Man arrested on weapons, warrant charges in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI — A 23-year-old man was arrested by members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force on Jan. 7.

Juan Franquis, of Providence, was taken into custody without incident.

Franquis was arrested on a charge of license required for carrying a pistol.

He also was arrested on a Washington County Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on an original charge of possession of a stolen vehicle out of the State Police Wickford Barracks.

Franquis was arrested on a Providence County Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on an original charge of large-capacity feeding devices prohibited out of the Providence Police Department.

Franquis was turned over to members of the Providence Police Department on scene.
