MIDDLEFIELD, NY — A 46-year-old man was arrested on a criminal contempt charge after failing to comply with a court order to receive a GPS ankle monitor.
Derrick N. Gray, of Middlefield, was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree on Jan. 7.
The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office said an investigation revealed Gray failed to obey a lawful court order issued by a judge to report to the Otsego County Probation Department to receive a GPS ankle monitor.
Due to Gray’s failure to report to the probation department, the Otsego County Court issued a bench warrant for him.
On Dec. 25, Gray was arrested on the bench warrant and remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility without bail.
On Jan. 7, Gray was formally charged with violating a court order and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Otsego Court.
Following arrest processing, Gray was returned to the correctional facility.
The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Oneonta Police Department and the Otsego County Probation Department during the investigation.
