PAWTUCKET, RI — A 23-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning on multiple charges after allegedly eluding law enforcement.
Enrique Sosa, of Pawtucket, was taken into custody at 3:26 a.m. on Jan. 8, 2026, according to state police.
Sosa faces charges of reckless driving – eluding law enforcement vehicle – first offense, driving with a suspended license – 4th or subsequent offense, and a Sixth District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment.
The bench warrant stemmed from an original charge of driving with a suspended license – 4th or subsequent offense originating from the North Providence Police Department.
The arrest followed an attempted motor vehicle stop on Smithfield Avenue.
Troopers later located Sosa walking on Smithfield Avenue in Pawtucket.
He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Sixth Division District Court as a probation violator.
