EAST GREENBUSH, NY — Two Albany women were arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 90.
Brittany A. Alescio, 33, of Albany, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia, and two violations of the public health law.
Starr M. Myers, 29, of Albany, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, driving while impaired by drugs and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 at about 10:55 p.m. Jan. 3 for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
Myers was identified as the driver and Alescio as the passenger.
The investigation discovered felony weight drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and on Alescio, according to police.
Both were arrested and transported to State Police barracks in Schodack for processing.
Myers refused to provide a sample to determine the drug content of her blood, police said.
Myers and Alescio were issued appearance tickets returnable to East Greenbush Town Court on Feb. 5 and released.
