Homicide suspect arrested in Utica

UTICA, NY — A fugitive wanted in connection with a 2024 homicide was arrested Monday during a multi-agency operation.

Charles Bryant, 19, of Utica, was apprehended on the 1100 block of Rutger Street on January 6.

Bryant had been indicted by an Oneida County Grand Jury on charges including second-degree murder in connection with the November 8, 2024, homicide of Keyamonie Davis.

He had eluded arrest until Monday’s operation.

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force conducted the arrest with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, Utica Police, New York State Police, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Oneida County Probation and New Hartford Police Department.

Later that morning, the task force arrested a 17-year-old male wanted in connection with a shooting on Roberts Street in May.

The juvenile had been indicted by an Oneida County Grand Jury for his involvement in the shooting incident.

He was transported to the Oneida County Jail for processing.

His name was not released due to his age.
