GREENWICH, CT — A 27-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a violent assault that occurred in town.
Jeremie Alexis was taken into custody at approximately 4 p.m. after Greenwich Police were notified by the Norwalk Police Department that a victim had reported an assault with injuries that occurred earlier that day in Greenwich.
Based on the victim’s statements, physical evidence and observed injuries, investigators determined that the victim was physically assaulted, strangled, unlawfully restrained, threatened with a knife and sexually assaulted during the incident.
The victim reported that the suspect made repeated threats to kill them.
Greenwich Police detectives and patrol officers responded to the suspect’s residence, established a perimeter and took the suspect into custody without incident.
A crime scene was secured, evidence was seized and the investigation was assumed by the Detective Division.
The suspect was processed at Greenwich Police Headquarters and charged with disorderly conduct, sexual assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, strangulation in the first degree, threatening in the second degree and unlawful restraint in the first degree.
Alexis was issued a court date of Wednesday at Stamford Superior Court and was held on a $500,000 bond.
