POWNAL, VT — A Bennington man was cited on charges of operating a vehicle without consent and criminal driving with a suspended license on December 29.
Christopher P. Russell, 35, of Bennington, allegedly took a motor vehicle belonging to Tammy Ducette, 54, of Pownal, without her permission, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers were notified of the reported car theft at approximately 3:13 p.m.
A Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles check revealed Russell was operating on a criminally suspended license.
The motor vehicle was returned to Ducette.
Russell was located by troopers with assistance from Bennington Probation & Parole.
Russell was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Bennington Criminal Division on March 2, 2026, at 8:15 a.m.
