TEWKSBURY, MA — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested a juvenile on multiple charges following an attempted armed robbery.
A 15-year-old male from Lawrence was arrested and charged with attempt to commit a crime, assault and battery (two counts) and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
On Friday, Jan. 2, at approximately 5:40 p.m., a resident reported to Tewksbury Police that they had been robbed in their home.
Through a preliminary investigation, police determined that the juvenile went to the victim’s home at about 1 a.m.
The juvenile pulled out a gun and ordered the reporting party to hand over money.
A fight ensued, and the juvenile fled the scene in a white Audi.
The juvenile and the victim were known to each other.
Tewksbury Police, with assistance from Lawrence Police, executed an arrest warrant for the juvenile on Jan. 3 at his Lawrence home.
The juvenile was arrested without incident.
A subsequent search of the juvenile’s residence resulted in officers securing a firearm and multiple bullets.
The juvenile is scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell Juvenile Court on Monday.
