Carjacking reported in Braintree

BRAINTREE, MA — Police are seeking charges against two juveniles in connection with an armed carjacking at a movie theater parking lot.

Officers responded to the AMC Theater at 121 Grandview Road at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2026, after receiving a 911 call reporting an armed robbery.

Police determined that two male suspects approached a female victim while she was seated in her vehicle and knocked on her window.

The suspects threatened to shoot the victim if she did not exit the car, according to police.

No firearm was displayed during the incident.

Fearing for her life, the victim exited the vehicle, police said.

The suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle, which also contained wallets and other personal valuables.

Police issued a be-on-the-lookout alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies.

The Boston Police Department located the vehicle unoccupied approximately one hour later.

A witness came forward and provided additional information while officers were investigating the incident.

Through investigative efforts by Braintree police officers and detectives, two juvenile suspects have been identified.

The names of the suspects will not be released due to their juvenile status.
