ULSTER, NY — Police responded to a crash detection alert at 55 Leggs Mill Road at 4:18 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2026.
Officers found a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder SUV with significant damage.
The vehicle, operated by Anita L. Noble-Hinchey, 59, of Kingston, was attempting to leave the parking lot when it drove onto railroad tracks and became stuck.
The operator was unable to remove the vehicle from the tracks before a CSX train struck it.
Noble-Hinchey and a passenger were evaluated by Empress Ambulance and refused medical treatment.
Noble-Hinchey was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, a misdemeanor, as well as additional traffic violations.
The Ulster Police Department was assisted by Ulster Hose Fire Department, Empress Ambulance, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and representatives from CSX.
