LYNBROOK, NY — A New Jersey man was arrested on drug and driving charges after a traffic stop on December 30.
Lynbrook Police Department officers on patrol observed a silver 2004 Lexus fail to turn as required at approximately 8 p.m.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and the driver presented a United States passport as identification.
A records check revealed the driver’s New York State driving privileges had been revoked 19 times.
The driver was taken into custody and transported to Lynbrook Police Department headquarters.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers recovered eight packages of “Trip Cookies” and six packages of “Trip Gummies,” each containing approximately 5 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, totaling 70 grams.
Officers also recovered four “Fusion Magic Chocolate Bars,” each containing approximately 6 grams of psilocybin, totaling 240 milligrams of psilocybin.
Police also found 2.5 pounds of cannabis, 9.9 ounces of concentrated cannabis and $1,609 in U.S. currency.
The driver was charged with driving with a suspended license and four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
