Police seek help identifying shooting suspects in Newark

NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two male suspects in connection with a shooting that occurred Sunday.

At approximately 7:44 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of West Market Street on a ShotSpotter notification.

Responding officers did not locate any victims, but observed ballistics evidence and a cell phone at the scene.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. urges anyone with information regarding the identity of either of these suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
