Pedestrian struck and killed in Hamburg

HAMBURG, NY — On December 28, at approximately 8 p.m., the Town of Hamburg Police Department responded to an incident involving a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of South Park Avenue and Southwestern Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers found bystanders performing CPR on an adult male in the roadway.

Officers provided immediate emergency medical assistance, and members of the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Department arrived to assume care of the patient.

The victim was identified as 60-year-old Daniel Livingston of Hamburg.

He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators.

The Town of Hamburg Accident Investigation Unit responded and has taken over the investigation.
