COLONIE, NY — State Police responded to a one-car crash on I-787 on Dec. 23 at about 9:26 p.m.
The driver was identified as Bryant M. Mcclendon, 41, of Albany.
A child under the age of 16 was also located in the vehicle.
Both the child and Mcclendon were transported to Albany Medical Center with significant but non-life-threatening injuries.
Mcclendon was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child and numerous other vehicle and traffic law violations.
Blood was collected at the hospital to determine the alcohol content of Mcclendon’s blood.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Colonie Town Court on Feb. 25, 2026, and released to the medical staff.
Mcclendon will be processed at a later date upon release from the hospital.
