SYRACUSE, NY — Syracuse police officers recovered a handgun early Wednesday after responding to a ShotSpotter activation in the 100 block of South Carbon Street.
Officers Gilbert and Haberer responded to the activation around 3:06 a.m.
Upon arrival, Officer Haberer spotted the only individual in the immediate vicinity of where the incident occurred.
After speaking with the individual, later identified as Telleon Warren, 35, of Syracuse, Officer Haberer determined he was involved in the shots fired incident.
Officer Haberer searched Warren and located a black Taurus G2C 9mm handgun mounted with a laser attachment in his pocket, as well as an ammunition magazine.
Warren was taken into custody and charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, one count of reckless endangerment in the first degree and one count of criminal possession of a firearm.
