WILLIMANTIC, CT — An infant has died following a reported fall at a residence in the city, police said Friday.
The Willimantic Police Department was notified of the situation on Dec. 21 when the child was transported to Windham Hospital after reportedly experiencing a fall the prior evening.
The infant was later transferred to Connecticut Children’s Hospital for additional medical care.
Detectives initiated an investigation and worked in coordination with medical personnel.
Police said life-sustaining measures were withdrawn and the infant has since died.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
No conclusions have been reached at this time, and no additional information is being released.
