BLOOMINGDALE, NJ — A home was destroyed by fire on Christmas Day after officers responded to West Shore Drive for a report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, the residence was found to be fully engulfed in flames.
No occupants were inside the home at the time of the fire.
Nearby residences were evacuated as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of area residents.
The Bloomingdale Fire Department responded and was assisted by the Wanaque Fire Department, Pompton Lakes Fire Department, Skyline Lake Fire Department and Ringwood Fire Department.
Wanaque First Aid Squad units and the Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad also responded to the scene and treated two firefighters who were evaluated for smoke inhalation.
The fire was extinguished and the scene was turned over to the Bloomingdale Fire Marshal’s Office for investigation.
