ENFIELD, CT — A man is facing multiple felony charges, including sexual assault, after police responded to a report of a physical assault on Dec. 25.
Officers were dispatched to a Pearl Street residence at approximately 5:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting a physical assault.
Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who reported she had been violently assaulted by a former boyfriend.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Irell Smith, 30, of Enfield, was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, larceny in the second degree, strangulation in the second degree, assault in the second degree, possession of a dangerous weapon, unlawful restraint in the first degree, threatening in the second degree and breach of peace.
Smith is being held on $1,000,000 bond.
Lashauna Bourne, 43, of Enfield, was also arrested in connection with the incident.
Bourne was charged with assault in the third degree, breach of peace and interfering with an officer.
She is being held on $10,000 bond.
