UTICA, NY — Utica police responded to a reported larceny at the South Utica Price Chopper on Dec. 23.
Officers located a suspect matching the provided description in front of the store and detained him during the investigation.
Loss prevention associates told officers that they saw the man conceal items and then leave the store without paying.
Police said the suspect, identified as Elijah Craft, 22, of Utica, had previously been banned from the Price Chopper after prior thefts.
Craft was transported to the Utica Police Department.
After an investigation, the Utica Police Criminal Investigations Division charged Craft with third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
