RUTLAND TOWN, VT — A Brandon man crashed his pickup truck into a utility pole on Post Road on Dec. 24.
Martin Harding, 48, of Brandon, was driving a 2011 Ford F250 north on Post Road at approximately 3:27 p.m. when he failed to maintain his lane while navigating a left curve near Honey Bee Place.
The truck exited the right side of the roadway, and Harding was unable to correct the vehicle back onto the road, causing it to sideswipe a utility pole.
Victoria Fish, 73, of Pittsford, was a passenger in the vehicle and sustained suspected minor injuries.
Fish was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center.
The truck sustained substantial damage to the passenger side.
Both Harding and Fish were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Road conditions were clear and normal, with cloudy weather reported.
The Vermont State Police were assisted at the scene by Regional Ambulance Service, Rutland Town Fire Department and Green Mountain Power.
A Vermont Civil Violation Complaint is pending.
