POWNAL, VT — A Bennington woman has been cited on a larceny charge following an investigation into a stolen jacket at a medical facility.
Vermont State Police were notified Nov. 7 of a larceny at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Pownal Campus.
Troopers began an investigation and discovered that a jacket belonging to Jane Sebborn, 73, of Williamstown, Massachusetts, was stolen from the facility.
Police reviewed appointment records and security footage and identified the suspect as Carrie J. Morrissey, 41, of Bennington.
On Nov. 24, a trooper identified Morrissey fleeing from officers of the Bennington Police Department from an unrelated arrest warrant.
Morrissey was apprehended and transported to the Bennington Police Department.
Morrissey was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Bennington Criminal Division on March 2 at 8 a.m.
Morrissey remained in custody with the Bennington Police Department.
