Man charged with larceny by false pretense in Milford

MILFORD, MA — Police have charged a man who allegedly impersonated an inspector to steal cash from a Dunkin Donuts safe.

The Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a call at 2:58 p.m. on Dec. 19 from an employee of Dunkin Donuts at 146 South Main Street reporting a larceny of cash from their safe approximately an hour earlier.

Members of the Milford Police Department Patrol Division and Special Operations Team arrived at 3:02 p.m. and began investigating.

Police determined a man acting as an inspection officer had gained access to more than $600 in cash from an open safe.

At approximately 5:35 p.m., detectives identified Jamal Guinyard, 40, of Acushnet, Massachusetts, as a suspect through CCTV and Flock Safety Search.

Detectives spoke with Guinyard at approximately 6:30 p.m., at which time he admitted to committing the larceny, police said.

Guinyard has been charged with larceny from a building, larceny under $1,200 by false pretense and trespassing.
