Pedestrian struck in hit-and-run crash in Seymour

SEYMOUR, CT — An 18-year-old woman was struck by a pickup truck that fled the scene on Bungay Road on December 21.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:29 p.m. in the area of 127 Bungay Road when the pedestrian was hit by the passenger-side mirror of the truck.

The vehicle was described as a gray or white pickup truck of unknown make and model.

A witness reported seeing the truck travel from Bungay Road to Canfield Road, then onto Botsford Road before accelerating and continuing onto Mountain Road.

The pedestrian sustained injuries to the right side of her face, including her cheek, teeth and eye area.

She was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.

Police said the pickup truck may have damage to the right passenger-side mirror.

Plastic debris believed to be from the mirror was found at the scene.

No license plate or driver description is available.
