Man arrested on sex abuse charges in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY — New York State Police arrested and charged a 35-year-old man with multiple sex abuse offenses on Dec. 17.

Timothy B. Taylor, of Plattsburgh, faces charges of sexual abuse in the second degree for sexual contact with a person less than 14 years old.

He also faces sexual abuse in the first degree for sexual contact by forcible compulsion.

Taylor was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

An additional charge of sexual abuse in the first degree was filed for sexual contact with a victim less than 13 years old while the defendant is older than 21.

The charges stem from an active investigation involving two separate incidents.

On Nov. 9 and Nov. 11, members of the New York State Police Troop B Bureau of Criminal Investigation received reports alleging that Taylor engaged in sexual contact with children under the age of 14.

Following an investigation, Taylor was arrested and transported to State Police Champlain for processing.

Taylor was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court, where he was remanded to the Clinton County Jail.
