Stolen vehicle recovered in Waterbury

WATERBURY, CT — Police recovered a stolen delivery vehicle and returned packages to their intended recipients after the car was found in a church parking lot.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle on Dec. 16.

The complainant reported his blue 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen while he was delivering packages.

Members of the Waterbury Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force were patrolling the area of 515 South Main Street on Dec. 19 when they observed the stolen vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot of St. Ann’s Church.

Officers recovered the vehicle and found the packages still inside.

Members of the Auto Theft Task Force personally delivered each package found inside the vehicle to the respective residences.
