BOSTON, MA — Three suspects have been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred in late November in Dorchester.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male in the area of 10 Abbotsford Street with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit and Transit Police.
The juvenile was wanted on a warrant issued out of Boston Juvenile Court on charges of delinquent to wit; armed carjacking with a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny over $1,200 and conspiracy.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
As officers were placing the juvenile into handcuffs, a second suspect began to film and taunt officers.
Detectives determined that individual was also involved in the carjacking incident and took him into custody.
Aamir Sylvia, 19, of Dorchester, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of armed carjacking with a firearm, threat to commit a crime and conspiracy.
Earlier Tuesday morning, Transit Police observed a third suspect, Atiana Suazo, 20, of Dorchester, in the area of Ashmont Train Station.
She was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The arrests stem from an incident at about 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 29, when officers assigned to District B-2 responded to the area of Columbia Road and Quincy Street for a report of an armed carjacking.
Officers were advised that one suspect pointed a firearm at the victim, and a second suspect was also armed with a firearm.
The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s vehicle.
A detective located the stolen motor vehicle in the area of 14 Abbotsford Street.
The vehicle was towed from the scene pending further investigation.
