KILLINGTON, VT — Police arrested a woman on a retail theft charge after she was identified as a shoplifting suspect at a local sporting goods store.
Killington Police received a complaint of suspicious persons believed to be shoplifting and loitering at Killington Sports on Dec. 2.
Store personnel provided a photo of the perpetrator to police.
Officers located and identified Meghan Muir, 38, of Rutland, approximately five minutes later.
Muir denied her involvement while speaking with police but was identified via CCTV footage possessing stolen merchandise moments before leaving the store without paying.
Muir was arrested for retail theft and processed.
She was released with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division on Jan. 12, 2026, at 10 a.m.
