Suspect arrested in 1997 homicide in Jamaica Plain

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA — A Boston man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a 1997 homicide, police said.

Brian Keazer, 50, of Boston, was taken into custody at about 12:15 p.m. on Dec. 16 by officers assigned to the Boston Police Fugitive Unit.

Keazer was wanted on a warrant issued out of Suffolk Superior Court for the murder of Ruth Foster, 56, of Boston.

The homicide occurred on Oct. 14, 1997, when Boston Police responded to a call for service at 47 Withington Street in Dorchester at about 1:24 a.m.

Officers found Foster at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the manner of death to be a homicide.

The arrest was the result of collaboration between the Boston Police Unsolved Homicide Squad and law enforcement partners, police said.

Keazer is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court Wednesday.
