WESTPORT, MA — Westport Police Detectives arrested a local man Friday on charges of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
John Vasconcellos, of Westport, was taken into custody with assistance from the Somerset Police Department.
Vasconcellos faces two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
A Clerk Magistrate ordered Vasconcellos held on $10,000 bail.
He was unable to post bail and was transported to the Bristol County House of Correction – Ash Street Jail.
Vasconcellos was arraigned at the Fall River Justice Center.
