LIVERMORE FALLS, ME — Three men were arrested following a home invasion and drug trafficking investigation on Dec. 15.
The Androscoggin County Regional Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from a residence in Livermore Falls requesting police assistance before the call was disconnected.
Officers from the Livermore Falls Police Department responded and determined that an active home invasion was occurring.
Three males forced their way into the residence and physically assaulted a resident with dangerous weapons, according to police.
One suspect was detained at the scene, while two others fled on foot.
Deputies from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a nearby residence associated with the suspects.
During the investigation, an additional male from New York was located hiding inside the residence.
Deputies obtained information indicating that the three males from New York had been trafficking illicit drugs from the location.
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 203.3 grams of illicit drugs, with an estimated street value of $30,000, along with approximately $8,000 in suspected drug trafficking proceeds.
The Livermore Falls Police Department utilized a drone and located one of the suspects who had fled, lying in the woods nearby.
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel Gala, 25, of New York; Joshua Washington, 25, of New York; and KaShaun Santiago, 25, of New York, on charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class A felony.
The Livermore Falls Police Department also charged the same individuals with burglary, a Class A felony; aggravated assault, a Class B felony; and aggravated criminal mischief, a Class C felony.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are expected.
