CORINTH, NY — Two people face multiple felony drug charges following a traffic stop Friday evening in the village.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for inadequate headlamps at 6:20 p.m. on River Street.
Thomas A. Allen, 37, of Hadley, and Erica B. Shippee, 39, of Corinth, were each charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, class B felonies.
Both also face three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, class D felonies.
Additional charges include criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia, class A misdemeanors.
Authorities allege both suspects knowingly and unlawfully possessed a narcotic drug with intent to sell it and possessed a narcotic drug weighing one-half ounce or more.
Allen and Shippee are also accused of knowingly and unlawfully possessing a controlled substance with intent to sell it and of knowingly possessing scales and packaging used for unlawfully dispensing a narcotic drug.
Allen faces an additional charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, for possessing stun knuckles after having previously been convicted of a crime.
Both were arraigned before the Honorable Michael T. Woodcock in Corinth Town Court.
Allen was released to pretrial services and Shippee was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
