WOLCOTT, VT — A 28-year-old man has been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a minor following an investigation by the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department.
Michael Mason, of Wolcott, was arrested Dec. 12 after the sheriff’s department Special Investigation Unit received a report from the Vermont Department of Children and Families regarding an alleged sexual assault.
The investigation was conducted jointly by sheriff’s deputies and Department of Children and Families investigators.
Mason was charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault of a minor.
The victim is under the age of 19.
Mason was lodged at the Northeast Correctional Facility and held without bail.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 15 in Lamoille County Superior Court.
