Head-on crash injures 3 in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, CT — A head-on collision left three people injured on Main Street near Orchard Street on Dec. 12.

Litchfield County Dispatch received reports of the crash at approximately 10:06 p.m.

Plymouth Police, Terryville Fire, and Plymouth Ambulance responded to the scene.

Officers found a 2008 Acura in the middle of Main Street with heavy damage and the operator trapped inside.

A 2011 Subaru was located on the grass in front of 288 Main Street, rolled onto its side, with the operator also trapped inside.

Additional ambulances were requested from Thomaston, Bristol Hospital, and Hatzalah EMS of Waterbury to treat the injured.

Terryville Volunteer Fire Department extricated both operators from their vehicles and turned them over to ambulance personnel.

The operator of the Acura was transported to Waterbury Hospital with serious injuries.

The operator of the Subaru was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital.

The passenger in the Subaru was transported to Waterbury Hospital for injuries sustained.

The Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team responded to assist in the investigation due to the seriousness of the injuries.

The Plymouth Police Department is requesting anyone who witnessed the collision to call Officer Mensel or Officer Smegielski at 860-589-7779.
