COLONIE, NY — Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a series of commercial burglaries that targeted five businesses in the town between November and December.
The burglaries began on Nov. 7 and followed a similar pattern, with suspects smashing front windows or doors during overnight hours to gain access and steal cash registers and merchandise, according to the Colonie Police Department.
The targeted businesses were Sports Clips at 800 Loudon Road, Royal Smoke Shop at 952 Troy Schenectady Road, Corner Deli at 98 Wolf Road, Bare Blends at 664 Loudon Road and Fix Wellness & Beauty at 664 Loudon Road.
Mack Murray, 30, of Albany, was arrested Dec. 9 and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, one count of attempted third-degree burglary, three counts of third-degree criminal mischief and two counts of petit larceny.
Murray was released under probation supervision with electronic monitoring.
Alyssa M. Eaton, 31, of Albany, was arrested Dec. 9 and charged with one count of third-degree burglary, one count of third-degree criminal mischief and one count of petit larceny.
Eaton was released on her own recognizance.
Miguel A. Rodriguez, 37, of Troy, was arrested Dec. 10 and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of petit larceny.
Rodriguez also faces charges of second-degree burglary, third-degree robbery and fourth-degree criminal mischief from an unrelated incident.
Rodriguez is being held at the Albany County Correctional Facility pending a preliminary hearing.
Heather D. Wilcox, 37, who is homeless, was arrested Dec. 10 and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of petit larceny.
Wilcox was released after posting bail.
Police said the investigation remains open and additional charges may be filed.
The department credited the Capital District Crime Analysis Center and assistance from the United States Marshals Service, New York State Police, Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Albany Police Department, Troy Police Department and Watervliet Police Department.
