Man arrested on drug trafficking charge in Fall River

FALL RIVER, MA — A man was arrested early this morning following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on the 200 block of Hamlet Street.

Leon Shelby, 36, of Fall River, was detained outside the residence by members of the Fall River Police Department CAST Unit and ESU in connection with a crack cocaine investigation.

Shelby is currently on GPS monitored bail for the charge of Accessory After the Fact (murder) in connection to a 2023 fatal shooting in Brockton.

During the search, detectives located multiple packages totaling just over 92 grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine, multiple digital scales, packaging materials, a drug ledger, and more than $6,000 in cash.

All contraband was seized and transported to the police station for evidence processing.

Shelby was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine (36 grams or more, less than 100 grams).
