ALBANY, NY — Three people were arrested Dec. 2 after state police located a stolen vehicle on North Manning Avenue.
Robert K. Bigness, 38, of Valatie, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony; grand larceny in the fourth degree; driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs or of alcohol and any drug or drugs; and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree.
Jude J. Roy, 39, of Rensselaer, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony; two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Molly S. Novakowski, 36, of Albany, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony.
State police responded at about 11 a.m. to the area of New Scotland Road in Slingerlands for a report of a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was located with assistance from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
Bigness was driving the vehicle, and Roy and Novakowski were passengers.
Roy was found to possess a controlled substance and a glass smoking device containing drug residue.
Troopers observed signs of impairment during an interview with Bigness.
Investigation revealed Bigness allegedly stole the vehicle from a victim known to him without their knowledge or permission.
All three were transported to State Police Guilderland for processing, where a blood sample was taken from Bigness.
All three were issued appearance tickets returnable to Albany City Court on Dec. 9 and released.
