Two arrested on shoplifting charges in Boston

BOSTON, MA — Two women were arrested on shoplifting charges at the Prudential Mall on Wednesday.

At about 1:42 p.m., officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to 800 Boylston Street for a reported larceny.

Officers were told that a female suspect had entered the Swarovski store and stole an item from the display shelf.

While patrolling the mall, officers observed a female suspect matching the description.

The suspect was advised of the reason for the stop and was placed into handcuffs.

During a search incident to arrest, officers recovered the stolen item from her left jacket pocket.

Roxana Breckner, 66, of Chestnut Hill, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for shoplifting by asportation.

At about 2:30 p.m., while on patrol inside the Prudential Mall, officers were advised that a suspect was inside the Lululemon store concealing multiple items.

The suspect was stopped as she was exiting the store, and five stolen items were recovered.

After further investigation, it was revealed that the suspect had four active warrants for her arrest.

The charges were for trespass, possession of Class B, distribute Class B, and larceny from a person.

Mirabai Berner-Lust, 37, of Boston, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for shoplifting by asportation.
