MANCHESTER, NH — A man experiencing a mental health crisis was arrested after a more than two-hour standoff at a Douglas Street residence.
Manchester Police responded to 81 Douglas St. at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Dec. 11 for a report of a man in crisis.
Officers learned that Demetrius Williams, 44, of Manchester, did not live at the address and was refusing to leave.
Police established a perimeter and attempted to contact Williams through phone calls and text messages.
Negotiators tried to convince him to exit the apartment for more than two hours, but he remained uncooperative.
Less-lethal methods were used to ensure Williams’ safe arrest.
Williams broke a window before being taken into custody without further incident.
He was charged with criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
Williams was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained while breaking the window.
