SHREWSBURY, VT — A 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs following a single-vehicle crash on Cold River Road.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to the crash at approximately 6:28 p.m. Dec. 10.
While speaking with the operator, John Vandetti, of Castleton, troopers detected signs of drug impairment.
Vandetti was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
He was released on a citation to appear in Rutland County Superior Court, Criminal Division, to answer charges of DUI-drug refusal and impeding public officers.
Troopers were assisted by the Shrewsbury Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Services.
