WEST YARMOUTH, MA — An 81-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning near the West Yarmouth Road cranberry bogs.
Yarmouth Police received a 911 call at approximately 10:44 a.m. reporting the pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.
Responding officers found the man suffering from serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained at the scene.
Initial reports indicate the man was crossing the roadway at the time of the crash.
The pedestrian was transported by Boston MedFlight to a Boston area hospital for treatment.
The department has filed an immediate threat license suspension for the operator.
The crash remains under investigation by the Yarmouth Police Department and the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Unit.
