Body found in Stamford identified as homicide victim

STAMFORD, CT — Police have identified a body found at a residence on Oaklawn Avenue as a homicide victim.

The deceased has been identified as Carmine Boccuzzi, 79, through DNA comparison with a family member, according to a statement released by the Stamford Police Department on Tuesday.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined the cause of death to be “blunt impact injuries of the head and torso with gagging” and the manner of death to be “homicide.”

The body was discovered at 263 Oaklawn Avenue and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner after Connecticut State Police completed processing the scene.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
