SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A West Hartford man was arrested on an active warrant Tuesday in connection with a forged check cashed at a local bank.

Joseph A. Gallup, 39, of West Hartford, was taken into custody at 1:41 p.m. by South Windsor police on charges of fourth-degree larceny and second-degree forgery.

The charges stem from a July incident at People’s Bank at 25 Cedar Avenue, where police say Gallup cashed a forged check for $1,304.39.

Gallup was initially taken into custody by the Bristol Police Department before being transferred to South Windsor police, where he was processed.

He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 24 at 9 a.m.
