CHERRY HILL, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday evening on Haddonfield Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:41 p.m. near Haddonfield Road and Yale Avenue.
Police said a 51-year-old male pedestrian was crossing Haddonfield Road when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.
Officers, firefighters and EMS personnel responded and provided medical aid.
The pedestrian was identified as Gerald S. Yashinsky Jr. of Cherry Hill.
He was pronounced deceased.
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
No additional injuries were reported.
Haddonfield Road was temporarily closed in both directions while the Cherry Hill Police Department Traffic Safety Unit conducted the on-scene investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Department Traffic Safety Unit with assistance from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Office of the Medical Examiner.
