STAMFORD, CT — A juvenile was arrested on firearms charges after police recovered a loaded handgun inside a local business on the city’s west side.
The Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics & Organized Crime Unit received information that a juvenile male was in possession of a firearm inside the business.
Detectives located the individual and conducted a search, which resulted in the recovery of a Springfield Armory XD-40 semi-automatic handgun.
The firearm was equipped with a high-capacity magazine containing 11 rounds and a laser sighting device.
The juvenile was transported to the Youth Bureau and was subsequently remanded to the Juvenile Detention Center.
The juvenile faces charges of possession of a pistol without a permit, illegal transfer of a firearm and illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine.
The juvenile is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 8.
