Man cited on drug charges in St. Albans

ST. ALBANS, VT — Vermont State Police cited an inmate on drug charges after he was found in possession of cocaine and fentanyl at a correctional facility.

Jacob Spencer, 38, a transient, was lodged at the Northwest Correctional Facility on unrelated charges when the incident occurred at approximately 1:55 a.m. on Nov. 24.

Police received a report of the drug possession incident on Nov. 25.

An investigation revealed Spencer was in possession of amounts of cocaine and fentanyl while at the facility on Lower Newton Road.

Spencer was cited on charges of introduction of regulated drugs into a correctional facility, possession of cocaine and possession of fentanyl.

He was issued a citation to appear before Franklin County Superior Court on Dec. 22 at 10 a.m.
