NEW LONDON, CT — Police are investigating an assault that left a man with facial injuries Sunday evening.
Officers responded to the area of 265 Broad St. at approximately 5:33 p.m. for a 911 call reporting a male bleeding heavily from the face.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with facial injuries and established a perimeter.
The victim was transported to the hospital for medical care.
His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Detectives responded to the scene to process evidence.
Police said the incident does not appear to be a random act.
The investigation remains active.
