MARSHFIELD, VT — Vermont State Police were notified of a vehicle that crashed into a Green Mountain Power telephone pole on U.S. Route 2 at approximately 6:56 a.m. Sunday.
Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene and observed that the vehicle had caused significant damage to the telephone pole.
Investigation revealed that the operator, identified as Gabriel P. Riley, 31, of Marshfield, left the scene and failed to report the crash to police.
Riley was issued a criminal citation for leaving the scene of an accident.
He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Washington Unit, Criminal Division on Jan. 15, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
