WATERBURY, CT — A man was arrested December 3 after police found him with a vehicle he allegedly stole twice from the same victim.
Aaron Rodriguez De Los Santos, 26, of Waterbury, was taken into custody without incident at an Irving Gas Station on West Main Street.
Officers from the Waterbury Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force and the Vice and Intelligence Unit were conducting a follow-up investigation related to a previously stolen vehicle.
On November 23, a 2015 Honda Civic was reported stolen in Waterbury.
Police said Rodriguez De Los Santos followed the victim home and pushed her as she exited her vehicle, then took the key fob and stole her car.
The vehicle was later recovered by Waterbury Police officers.
However, the suspect retained possession of the vehicle’s key fob and stole the vehicle again on December 3.
Approximately an hour later, officers observed the stolen Honda Civic parked at the gas station.
During the investigation, police seized fentanyl and crack cocaine.
Rodriguez De Los Santos was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Charges are pending for the November 23 incident.
