WESTON, CT — Two homes were burglarized over the past week while residents were out of town, according to the Weston Police Department.

Both homes were unoccupied at the time of the burglaries, police said Friday.

One home was located on Lord’s Highway East and the other on Lyons Plain Road.

At the Lord’s Highway East location, the burglar gained access by breaking through a rear patio door and ransacked the house.

At the Lyons Plain Road location, the burglar entered through a second-floor window and focused on the primary bedroom suite.

The perpetrators are skilled at avoiding detection by home alarms, police said.

The Weston Police Department is investigating both burglaries.

Police said the incidents are not isolated to Weston and are happening throughout the region.

Investigators are collaborating with other law enforcement agencies and utilizing all available resources to develop potential suspects.

Anyone who witnessed unusual activity or has video recordings of the area is asked to contact Detective Joe Mogollon at [email protected].

Police urged residents to lock doors and windows, set alarms and ensure surveillance cameras are functioning properly.

Residents should also lock vehicles parked outdoors and remove keys and valuables, police said.

Those traveling should have someone available to monitor their home as frequently as possible.

Anyone who notices unusual activity should call Weston Communications at 203-222-2600 or 911 in an emergency.
