NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who removed four tires from a vehicle and left it on crates on December 2.

The suspect, captured on surveillance video, got out of a gray Honda Civic at approximately 3:20 a.m. and parked behind the victim’s Honda in the 100 block of Emmet Street.

He removed the tires, leaving the vehicle on crates that police officers discovered when they responded to calls that car tires were being stolen.

The suspect wore a white hoodie, blue jeans, and blue and white sneakers.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-695-8477.
